Important Dates Explained:
- Trimesters - Our school calendar is organized into three trimesters. During the first and last trimester, students have the opportunity to earn 1 credit. During the middle trimester, students may earn .5 credit. The trimester schedule allows students to earn more credits each year.
- Adventure Week - 9th graders participate in Adventure Week, a 5 day Outward Bound course in Upstate New York with their crew. Completion of Adventure Week is a required exit criterion.
- Explore Week - Twice a year, students take intensive mini-courses worth .5 credit called Explore Weeks. During Explore Week, students attend during regular school hours, but only take one course.
- Student Led Conferences (SLCs) - Three times a year, students hold a Student Led Conference. During this conference they meet with parents, teachers, peers, and community members to discuss their academic progress and civic leadership development.
- NYS Regents - Students in New York State must pass a certain amount and distribution of Regents Exams in order to graduate. New York State administers the exams in January and June. While the exams are held, the school operates on a special schedule for students.
- Crew Olympics - In the spring, students compete as a crew against other crews in a variety of events that test the mind, body, and spirit.
