The Student Activity Committee had a bake sale on Monday and Wednesday to raise money which will be used for an upcoming Halloween Dance.
The Student Activity Committee is made up of 15 student members who all contribute to our school’s entertainment. The Committee is advised by Ms. Kruse, an English teacher at the school. The group’s task is to come up with ideas for school functions and come up with ways to fund school trips and activities. Students interested in joining the Committee should contact Ms. Kruse.
On Monday and Wednesday, the Student Committee hosted a bake sale in hopes of raising money for the school’s upcoming dance. Over the course of two days, the Committee was able to raise over $200, according to Joshua D. (’11) a member of the Student Activity Committee. There was an arrangement of goodies sold, from cupcakes to brownies; the options were almost endless. The money raised from the bake sale will go towards the DJ, decorations, and refreshments for the dance.
The upcoming dance is a Halloween party on Friday, October 23rd. It was originally supposed to be held the Friday before Halloween, but was rescheduled due to the fact that parents were concerned about their children’s safety, as announced at Community Meeting last Friday. The dance will be hosted in Gyms 1 and 2 from 6 to 9. It is a costumed affair, and students are encouraged to wear appropriate costumes. Students should know that masks and inappropriate costumes and not permitted. Tickets cost $5. One of the dance organizers, Joshua D. said the goal of the dance is to unify the school as, “we have the new grade coming in, and we just want this party to bring people together.” Marvin P. (’12) says, “I’ll be there.”

Nice new post. It even managed to get me excited about the dance. Which is why I am writing this here since no reporters came to ask me about my feelings about it….hint, hint.
Great article! It was interesting to see you interview students in my classroom and see that product of those interviews. Keep up the hard work!
