2a) Youth Internship Search Engine

  •  Citizens' Committee for Children of New York (CCC) has an exciting opportunity for youth ages 14 - 18!  Community service credit is available as well as expanding leadership and civic engagement opportunities. Note that due to the pandemic, this year's Youth Community Leadership Course will be held remotely, via Zoom.

CCC is a multi-issue child advocacy organization that seeks to ensure that every child is healthy, housed, educated, and safe.  YouthAction NYC engages New York City youth from diverse backgrounds in civic participation and advocacy. Students who participate in the YCLC will:

  1. Gain the skills to advocate on behalf of themselves, their schools, and their communities.

  2. Learn how to conduct research such as public polling, stakeholder interviews, and data analysis.

  3. Meet with government officials to discuss their ideas for improving New York City.

  4. Become better leaders through problem solving and critical thinking.

  5. Strengthen their communication and public speaking skills.

  6. Make lifelong friends with the diverse group of peers in the program!

Student Led Conferences

This year, SLCs will take place on November 12 and 13. Your CREW teacher will be reaching out to your parent to make an appointment.

  • During SLCs, students will prepare a presentation of how they are adapting to online learning, set goals for the remainder of the 1st marking period and the 2nd marking period.
  • Student will also prepare to discuss their Habits of Work and the 5 Commitments.
