2026 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)

    • Students do not need to answer the referring agency question or enter a PIN.
    • If they do not follow the steps above, they may be routed to a different provider.

    Next steps after applying

    • Students should check email and respond quickly to messages from: MNTCAC@schools.nyc.gov
    • In early March, applicants will receive directions to upload documents and will have only a few days to complete it.
    • Enrollment is first come, first served and applications are only complete once all documents are submitted, so students should start gathering documents now.

  • Kurt Hahn Important Reminders

    • Students should be in their classes - at their desks - at 8:30am. Please remember attendance is important. Your child misses out on essential learning and school work if coming to school late. Usually, the classes that may be difficult, or a child is failing, is due to the fact they are late to class.
    • School laptops and devices need to be charged and brought to school everyday.
    • Students should be logging into their gmail, google classroom, and jumpro.pe account to check & complete schoolwork. Please check in with your child and discuss school work - what is due, what was completed, how they are doing in their classes, what is difficult, what is enjoyable, are they showing up on time to their classes...
    • Students were given important forms - Blue Card, Media Consent Forms, Lunch Forms - that need to be completed and returned to the main office ASAP. Please remember to check in with your child about forms, permission slips, or any other documents that need to be completed, signed, and returned to the school.
    • Please notify the school if your child will be absent.
    • Our phone lines are back up and working - give us a call if you have any concerns or questions 718-629-1204.
