The orientation takes place at Kurt Hahn, from 4:30pm-5:30pm. Before the 2024-2025 school year starts, we want to be sure to officially welcome our incoming 9th graders. Let's continue building a future for our young ones!

Welcome to the Kurt Hahn Expeditionary Learning School! On behalf of the school staff, we welcome you to the Kurt Hahn site, which will provide some insight into what it means to be a scholar at the Kurt Hahn School. As a school community, we use the five commitments of perseverance, courage, compassion, respect, and stewardship as our guide to implementing a rigorous and culturally relevant academic plan for our young people. It is our deepest belief that all students deserve a quality education, and our staff works extremely hard to provide our students with the education they deserve. In addition, we are a restorative justice school that encourages our young people to recognize their role within their community; in doing so, we believe our young people will grow up to be the change-makers in the larger world community.
As the Kurt Hahn school principal, I have had over 13 years of experience as an educator—as a special education teacher, a restorative justice dean, and an assistant principal. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and attended NYC public schools. These elements of my being play an integral part in my commitment to our community. It is my honor and duty to serve as the principal at the Kurt Hahn School.
